In the first session I ask my clients to talk to me about what it is that has brought them along to counselling. Towards the end of the time we have I'll talk a little about how we might want to proceed from here if my client thinks they'd like to return and see me again, in terms of arranging further sessions, fees, that kind of thing.
Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes, and happens, as much as possible, at the same day and time every week. Some people want to come to counselling for a few weeks, others want to come regularly for months, or years. Sometimes clients want to have a think about whether they'd like regular sessions, and leave the initial meeting with a plan to get in touch and let me know either way in a few days' time.
If you do want to begin regular counselling with me, then it is up to you how long you would like to come for, and you don't need to decide when we begin - we can just see how things go for you.
My fees are on a sliding scale according to the type of work and client circumstances. I invoice my clients monthly, although some people prefer to pay every week, which is also fine.
